John 8:12–59

The Pharisees reacted to Jesus over His claim, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12). Their hostility escalated from opposition to insult to violence, displaying traits of those who reject Jesus—a lack of knowledge, perception, and humility. In the face of aggressive attacks, Jesus stood firm and clearly proclaimed His deity, saying, “Before Abraham was even born, I AM!” (John 8:58). What do we do with the claims of Christ? Accept Him as our Lord!
