2 Kings 1

The death of King Ahab was exactly as God foretold through the lips of Elijah (1 Kings 21:19; 22:37–38). Ahab’s son, Ahaziah, became the next king (22:40) and ruled wickedly during his two-year reign as had Ahab before him (22:52–53). The Spirit of God has preserved the events that led to Ahaziah’s death, so we might learn some practical and important lessons from the account (2 Kings 1). It revolves around a wrong decision the king made following an accident he suffered in his palace.
